Is there any help from the government or anyone for widow elders?

I know alot of the answers will say yes. But really I have a situation that on Sept. 14,2007 my father 69 years old ped away with the West Nile Virus. I have tried getting help for my mom she is 67 years old and is only recieving 800 dollars a month how can she possibly live on that. She has a morgage of 487 a month plus utilities bills, medicine, food, and dr. No one has been able to extend there hand in helping us. Its my older sister and I. God have mercy!! We really need help we don't know what to do. Its sad that without money no one will help and extend there hand.
