Is There a way to find out if personal insurance policies were paid.?

I believe my parents insurance was paid off to my siblings, but I was tol by them that there was not a policy found. Is there anyway a search can be found on the internet to access insurance policies pay-offs. I know there is not a Insurance database, was told it was eliminated years ago. Is there any other way?
