Is the current row with China just the beginning?

I will be the first to admit that I am not a fan of China and authoritarian capitalism. Relations with the CCP seem to be cooling a bit. Are current events opening the first rift between the two nations or is this just a rough patch between the two? Has the jockeying for the top position begun?
